1. What does a cum laude mean to you?
Cum laude is just a value, one of the measuring tools at an educational level to consider how well an individual or student understands the subject or material concerned. The value of cum laude does not guarantee anything, it only increases the opportunity to be glimpsed by employers. In the end, we are all the same humans.
2. After studying in class and going directly to the field, namely internship and work, does learning in class play an important role when you work?
Yes. during the internship, it is very used. And I had an internship at an investment management company, Bahana TCW Investment Management, so even though I work in the operations division, I am more prepared to get to know accounts that are not seen in the usual financial statements. Because the financial statement faced is the Financial Statement of each mutual fund that the investment manager manages. Now I'm also just starting to pursue a career in investor relations, even though it's not too thick with capital markets, and the knowledge during college is still used. If there are no bases, then how can you work right away? Hehe
3. Why choose accounting and capital markets concentration to further your studies, and what are the interests of capital markets ?
The Indonesian capital market is on developing, just look at the current number of companies that have IPO (Initial Public Offerings), the number of companies that have been listed on the Indonesian stock exchange alone is more than 700+ companies. The number of local investors has also begun to dominate shareholders in IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) compared to foreign investors. Moreover, the number of individuals who register their accounts has also increased significantly in 2019. The profession in the capital market itself will automatically develop more and don't forget the importance of education for capital market products such as stocks and bonds for investment needs.
The capital market itself is also the most unique and different concentration on our campus. This concentration is also rarely found in other campuses so this is a great opportunity to be taken and mastered. I know, the knowledge learned in Capital Market is the most abstract and difficult, but you know, you won't regret it. Even though, for example, in the end, we choose to become auditors or something else other than in the capital market, the knowledge of Capital Market itself will be used, our seniors or superiors will have more confidence for us to hold accounts related to the capital market.​
