Your experience from the beginning of learning about accounting until now?

In the past, when I entered the accounting department I did not understand what accounting was at all. But when I was studying accounting and looking further about accounting, I found it very enjoyable. As well as from the lecturers at that time, the way they explained and the way they gave something to students was very clear. So that I can understand and survive in this accounting. And because my passion is teaching. So my curiosity about accounting makes me always want to study and study.

How do you survive teaching accounting during a pandemic and how do you think about the difference between online and offline teaching?

For myself, I prepare everything in advance. In terms of the material and equipment that I need. Especially in the material. Like in the last PoA class, I always provide video recordings for learning so that students can help students better understand the material and also students can save the video for learning. There is a lot of advantage for online and offline classes. Where online classes are academically tidier, such as absences, collecting assignments in the form of files, flexible study time, and students can do it anywhere. But yes, the minus, in my opinion, is that maybe I can't monitor the children whether they understand or not with the material presented, they are bored, and also tired because their eyes have to look at the monitor screen continuously. And maybe from the student's point of view, learning online is not too passionate about teaching and learning either. I prefer offline classes because I can interact with students and also develop students' enthusiasm for learning. After all, they have a purpose where they come to class to study. They not only met with friends in a line but with students from other majors as well. And it builds a learning atmosphere. But offline classes are of course not as flexible as online classes, where offline classes must follow the schedule and availability of available places. So there are pluses and minuses of the online and offline classes.

How to make students majoring in accounting don't feel that they have chosen the wrong major because as we know accounting is quite complicated?

Sometimes the student comes in like my position is, comes in. Some enter into accounting on their own accord. Some entered accounting because their parents ordered them to do so and some were forced by their parents. At the beginning of the lesson, I explained to students the lessons they were facing for the next 4 years. By opening students' horizons, those wherever they are will be able to survive. By finding out, is his passion there (accounting), feel good about studying accounting? By opening up insights about accounting where broad accounting knowledge can be studied by students.

What is Maam's view of the future of accounting?

Accounting in the future will still be needed. Especially now based on technology. There will be many challenges in the future. If we are successful in overcoming the challenges we are going through, this profession will be needed. But it all depends on you, whether you can become the required accountant or not. Depend on whether you can answer the challenge or not.

Are there any suggestions from ma'am for accounting students to go through their life as accountants?

As an accounting student, the most important thing is studying. Learning here in a sense that can understand learning, can enjoy what is done and there is also no sense of compulsion, because if we are not happy with what we are doing, then we end up harming ourselves by wasting our energy and also wasting time. And as a student, they need to equip themselves with study skills, the ability to motivate themselves, and also persistence. With things like that we can reach the desired goals without having to ignore the words of people who will shake the determination to achieve the desired goals.
