Name: Sesilia Claire Lioni Kristanti
Batch: 2016
Concentration: Tax
Cumulative GPA: 3.81

In your point of view, what does a cum laude means to you?

Achieving the cum laude title was my target since the 5th semester, which was the lowest point of my study at the university. Back then I was afraid if in the next semester I got any lower than that, it would give impact to my scholarship. Therefore, I decided starting from that time to push myself until I got 4.0 as my next semester GPA. And after I got that (thank God) I set the bar higher, which is to get cum laude title.
Becoming cum laude for me is not merely for showing off but to make my family proud when I graduated later, and as proof all the hard work is now paid off.

How to study efficiently from your version?

In my perspective, the study will be efficient and effective if there is a strong trigger or target to be achieved. So finding them are important. Another thing that is also essential to  find our way of studies. It could be varied among the person. In my version, I am not the type that studies every day or every time. I have some spare time since I also need to socialize with my friends. But I always try to pay attention to the lecturer at the class. Sounds cliché but true. Listening to the lecturers will not only make me understand the material better but also help me figuring out which one is important and should be noted and which one is just "for your information". I am not taking notes on everything, only the important things that I should remember and will be useful later on.

What are the key habits of you to successfully pass a subject?

1st,

LISTEN. If you're not listening you won't know which one you should pay attention to when you are doing your quiz or exam. Listening is like getting to know your lecturer. By listening you will know what they expect from you, even what will probably come up in the exam. Some lecturers especially those who like to explain a lot sometimes give the questions which answers are not in the book. Only those who were paying attention will get the correct answer.

2nd,

if you are like me who is easily forget, then WRITE it down. You don't have to write everything they said. Just extract the point and write it on your notes before you start to forget it.

3rd,

PRACTICE. Some problems or questions might look easy for us if we just look at it. When we start working on it we will find out where we might make mistakes and it can prevent us from making the same mistakes in the future.

4th,

DO NOT LIMIT YOURSELF. Don't say things like "this is the only thing I can do" or "there's no way I can get that grade" before you give all you've got. You are what you think you are. Everyone receives the same opportunities. It's just how we use our opportunity that makes a different result.
